What is Child Coaching?
Child Coaching is a personalized individual program in which a qualified coach works closely with your child to build resilience, nurture emotional well-being, and strengthen essential life skills. Through conversation, play, and creative techniques, the coach helps your child navigate challenges and meaningful experiences.
The goal is to empower children to find their own solutions, in a way that suits their individual personality, pace, and needs.
Why is it important?
A child’s well-being and healthy development always come first. Behavior often reflects underlying emotions or challenges such as stress, anxiety, or insecurity. Sometimes these signals are subtle; other times, they appear as more complex behavior. Recognizing and addressing these signs early makes it possible to offer targeted support, preventing such challenges from affecting a child’s emotional balance or development.
Early guidance helps children stay resilient while continuing to develop their social, emotional, and cognitive skills, ensuring a healthy foundation for adolescence and adulthood.
How does it work?
Start with a non-binding intake meeting with our Child Coach to discuss your child’s needs. Simply complete the intake form below to request your appointment.
Once we receive the form, we review the request and schedule an intake meeting. During this meeting, we discuss your child’s needs together with the parent(s)/caregiver(s) and the Child Coach.
The intake meeting is completely non-binding and free of charge, regardless of whether a coaching program is started or not.
If you have questions or would like to discuss our service before filling out the intake form, feel free to contact us by phone, email, or in person.
The first three sessions focus entirely on your child. During these sessions, the coach provides a safe and engaging environment where the root of the challenge is explored. Creative techniques such as drawing, painting, music, or other playful activities are used to help the child express emotions and discover solutions. Each session lasts one hour, and the full program consists of a minimum of four sessions. The total number of sessions may be adjusted depending on the child’s progress and needs.
After the third session, an evaluation meeting is held with the parent(s)/caregiver(s) only. During this meeting, progress, goals, and key observations are discussed using our progress report, which clearly outlines the steps your child has taken. Based on this evaluation, we jointly decide whether the program will conclude after the fourth session or continue for a few additional sessions.
At the end of the coaching program, a closing meeting takes place with the parent(s) and the coach. This final conversation reviews your child’s growth, the goals achieved, and how the newly developed skills can be applied in daily life. If necessary, we provide advice on follow-up coaching or other forms of support. The purpose of this final meeting is to ensure a smooth conclusion and equip parents with practical tools to continue fostering their child’s growth.
When can Child Coaching help?
Personal Child Support is particularly helpful when parents notice their child needs extra support in handling challenges, such as building self-confidence, processing emotions, or coping with behavioral issues and stressful situations. These challenges can range from smaller difficulties, like struggles with social interactions or changes, to more impactful life events.
Common signs that Child Coaching could be beneficial include:
Low self-confidence or fear of failure: The child appears uncertain, avoids new experiences, or withdraws from social interactions.
-
Difficulty processing emotions: The child experiences intense emotions such as sadness, anger, or fear, and struggles to manage them.
-
Behavioral changes: Sudden shifts in behavior such as withdrawal, anger, or difficulty following rules without a clear reason.
-
Social difficulties: Trouble making friends, resolving conflicts, or playing cooperatively with others.
-
Coping with change or loss: The child has experienced a move, divorce, or the loss of a loved one and finds it difficult to adjust.
-
Resistance or tension around school: Stress or reluctance to attend school, difficulty concentrating, or pressure to perform.
-
Support for giftedness or special needs: The child faces unique challenges related to giftedness or specific needs and may struggle to feel understood or accepted.
Recognizing and addressing these challenges early can prevent them from developing into larger issues that could impact a child’s long-term well-being and confidence.
